ABOUT MADAME PINCE
The Dicionário Madame Pince was released on June 02 2007, less than a month before the two big releases of the year: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and the fifth film. The original idea of creating a website with information about all the books came from Gustavo Linares (ex-webmaster of Harry Potter o Filme) and was quickly agreed by Marcelo (current webmaster of Potterish). After the initial blow the difficult task of starting this pharaonic project started to go into action, and from then on nobody stopped in the edition section of the website anymore. During about these two years, the project had thousands of changes, such as purpose, content and staff.
You could credit the Madame Pince as the major project of an inside revolution organised by the Potterish websites since last year; a content revolution that changed substantially the image and improved even more the Potterish's concept of be. The Dictionary is the indicator of the quality and commitment bound with the visitors when we provide a serious and especially complete material.
At present the Dictionary has a twenty editors staff, specialised in edition and expert in the Potter series. The material available definitely increased very much; from June to December 2007 we had an increase of more than 1,000 entries, adding 3,500 entries up, 25 thousands editions and more than 1 million pages visited. A strong recognition to the hundreds of hours dedicated exclusively to the Dictionary, which we immensely thanks our visitors.
The Madame Pince Dictionary also shows respect to the Brazilian fans, when imposing a strict Anti-Spoilers Policy, preventing that information about the seventh and last book leaks out before the official release. It was kept until 11:59 pm on November 9 2007. After the beginning of the sales of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows go off in Brazil its content started to be added.
